BIFFY CLYRO - A CELEBRATION OF ENDINGS
Limited Edition Indie Exclusive Blue Vinyl
Biffy Clyro’s eighth studio album, A Celebration of Endings, is a record about change, resilience and learning to embrace what comes next. Released in 2020, it finds the Scottish trio balancing their trademark intensity with some of their most direct and melodic songwriting, creating an album that feels both immediate and expansive.
The album opens with “North of No South”, launching straight into Biffy’s familiar combination of huge guitars, intricate rhythms and Simon Neil’s unmistakable vocals. “The Champ” and “Weird Leisure” continue the momentum, while “Tiny Indoor Fireworks” delivers one of the album’s most instantly memorable and anthemic moments.
At the heart of the record is the idea that endings do not necessarily have to be mourned. “Space” provides a more vulnerable counterpoint, while “End Of” and “Instant History” turn the album towards reflection and the possibility of moving forward. The band’s ability to switch between melody, aggression and atmosphere remains central throughout.
The closing sequence is particularly powerful. “The Pink Limit” and “Opaque” build through increasingly atmospheric arrangements before “Cop Syrup” brings the album to a chaotic and explosive conclusion, moving through crushing guitars, orchestration and dramatic shifts in intensity.
Produced by Rich Costey, A Celebration of Endings captures Biffy Clyro at a point where their arena-sized sound had become firmly established, while still retaining the experimentation and unpredictability that has always separated them from conventional rock bands.
This particular pressing is the limited Indie Exclusive edition on blue coloured vinyl, released in August 2020 and housed in a gatefold sleeve. With its distinctive coloured vinyl and limited retail distribution, it is a particularly desirable physical edition for Biffy Clyro collectors.
