BILLIE EILISH - HAPPIER THAN EVER
100% Recycled Black Vinyl — 2LP
Billie Eilish’s second studio album, Happier Than Ever, marked a significant evolution from the dark, genre-defying sound of her breakthrough debut. Released in July 2021, the album finds Eilish and her brother FINNEAS stripping back the production to create something more intimate, reflective and emotionally exposed.
Written entirely by Billie and FINNEAS, who also produced the album in Los Angeles, Happier Than Ever explores fame, identity, relationships, boundaries and the complicated process of growing into adulthood under an extraordinary level of public attention. The record frequently favours space and subtlety, allowing Eilish’s vocals and lyrics to sit at the centre of the arrangements.
“Getting Older” immediately establishes the album’s reflective tone, while “I Didn’t Change My Number” and “Billie Bossa Nova” introduce a lighter, more playful side. “my future” moves from sparse introspection into a warm, expansive conclusion, while “Oxytocin” and “GOLDWING” bring some of the electronic experimentation associated with Eilish’s earlier work.
The second half moves through “Lost Cause”, “Halley’s Comet” and the atmospheric “Not My Responsibility”, before building towards the explosive title track. “Happier Than Ever” begins quietly before erupting into distorted guitars and one of the album’s most cathartic performances. The closing “Male Fantasy” brings the record back down to an intimate, understated finish.
Musically, Happier Than Ever demonstrates the remarkable versatility of the Eilish and FINNEAS partnership. Jazz-influenced pop, acoustic instrumentation, electronic textures and distorted rock all sit comfortably within the same album, yet the record remains cohesive from beginning to end.
This edition is pressed on 100% recycled black vinyl, using recycled vinyl material to reduce waste from the manufacturing process. Presented as a 2LP set in a gatefold sleeve, it offers a physical edition that reflects the album’s deliberately considered approach to both sound and presentation.
