DYLAN - THE GREATEST THING I'LL NEVER LEARN
Black Vinyl LP – Original 2022 Island Records Release
Dylan’s debut mixtape The Greatest Thing I’ll Never Learn is a bold introduction to an artist with a sharp voice, unmistakable attitude and a talent for turning heartbreak into huge, emotionally charged pop-rock. Released through Island Records in October 2022, the eight-track project captures the chaos of falling in and out of love with humour, vulnerability and plenty of bite.
Across the mixtape, Dylan explores the complicated process of learning to love and be loved, transforming personal experiences into songs that feel direct, relatable and completely her own. There is a confident irreverence running throughout the record, but beneath the sarcasm are moments of genuine vulnerability and self-reflection.
The opening track Girl Of Your Dreams immediately establishes the record’s attitude, while Nothing Lasts Forever and Blue delve further into the uncertainty and emotional fallout of relationships. Lovestruck brings a heavier, more dramatic edge, before the second half of the mixtape moves through the rawness of Blisters, the defiance of Treat You Bad and the title track’s reflection on everything that remains unresolved.
The closing track, Home Is Where The Heart Is, provides a more reflective ending to a record that constantly moves between confidence and vulnerability. Together, the eight songs form a compact but characterful debut that helped establish Dylan as one of the UK's most exciting emerging alternative pop artists.
Pressed on classic black vinyl, this is the original Island Records LP edition of Dylan’s debut mixtape. With its concise eight-track running order and distinctive songwriting, The Greatest Thing I'll Never Learn is a strong addition to any collection focused on contemporary British alternative pop.
