ED SHEERAN - + (PLUS)
Orange Translucent Vinyl LP
Ed Sheeran’s debut studio album, + (Plus), introduced a distinctive new voice to British pop, combining acoustic folk, soulful vocals and candid songwriting. Originally released in September 2011, the album captures a young songwriter balancing intimate storytelling with infectious melodies, establishing the foundations of a career that would go on to reach audiences around the world.
Written largely from personal experience, + explores love, loss, growing up and the complexities of everyday life. Sheeran’s stripped-back approach places his lyrics and guitar work at the centre of the record, creating a sound that feels both personal and accessible. From delicate acoustic arrangements to more rhythm-driven productions, the album moves effortlessly between vulnerability and confidence.
“The A Team” became Sheeran’s breakthrough single, earning widespread recognition for its understated arrangement and poignant storytelling. “Lego House” showcases his gift for melodic songwriting, while “Drunk” and “Small Bump” reveal different sides of his lyrical style. The album builds towards “Give Me Love”, an expansive closing track that combines delicate vocals with an increasingly powerful arrangement.
Musically, + draws on acoustic pop, folk, hip-hop influences and contemporary singer-songwriter traditions. Its combination of conversational lyrics, memorable choruses and warm acoustic instrumentation helped define the sound of early 2010s British pop.
Presented on orange translucent vinyl, this edition adds a distinctive visual finish to Sheeran’s breakthrough debut. A defining release in his discography, + remains an important record for fans of modern acoustic pop and a colourful addition to any Ed Sheeran vinyl collection.
