HOLLY HUMBERSTONE - CRUEL WORLD
Standard Black Vinyl
Holly Humberstone returns with her second studio album, Cruel World, a deeply immersive record that explores the tension between pain and pleasure, chaos and acceptance. Released in April 2026, it finds Humberstone expanding the intimate alternative-pop sound of her earlier work into something darker, more cinematic and emotionally expansive.
Across twelve tracks, Cruel World creates a world of childhood memories, fractured relationships, monsters and nostalgia. The album opens with “So It Starts…”, before moving through the atmospheric “Make It All Better”, the emotionally charged “To Love Somebody” and title track “Cruel World”.
Humberstone’s songwriting remains at the centre of the record, with her characteristically intimate vocals set against atmospheric production that gives the album a dreamlike, sometimes unsettling quality. “Die Happy”, “White Noise”and “Lucy” explore darker emotional territory, while “Red Chevy”, “Drunk Dialling” and “Peachy” add different shades to the album’s constantly shifting mood.
Cruel World arrives as the follow-up to Humberstone’s acclaimed debut Paint My Bedroom Black, continuing her evolution from intimate bedroom songwriter into one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary alternative pop.
This standard edition is pressed on black vinyl and presents the complete twelve-track album as a single LP — a substantial physical release for fans and collectors following Humberstone’s growing catalogue.
