MUMFORD AND SONS - BABEL 10TH ANNIVERSARY
10th Anniversary Edition · Limited Cream Coloured Vinyl
Released in 2012, Babel saw Mumford & Sons return with a bigger, more assured version of the folk-rock sound that had made Sigh No More such a phenomenon. Packed with soaring harmonies, pounding percussion, banjo-led melodies and Marcus Mumford's unmistakable vocals, it became one of the defining albums of the band's early career.
From the opening title track through to the huge singles “I Will Wait” and “Lover Of The Light”, Babel balances raw energy with moments of striking intimacy. “Ghosts That We Knew”, “Holland Road” and “Hopeless Wanderer”showcase the band's ability to move effortlessly between quiet reflection and full-blown anthemic songwriting.
The album was a major commercial success, reaching No. 1 in both the UK and US, and went on to win the Grammy Award for Album of the Year in 2013.
To mark its 10th anniversary, Babel was reissued with alternate artwork and pressed on 180g cream-coloured vinyl, giving one of Mumford & Sons' most celebrated albums a particularly distinctive place in any collection.
