MUMFORD AND SONS - DELTA

180g 2LP Gatefold Vinyl

A decade into their career, Mumford & Sons returned with one of their most expansive and adventurous albums.

Released in November 2018, Delta marked ten years since the formation of the band and brought together the different sides of their musical identity. The electric ambition of Wilder Mind remained, but acoustic instrumentation, rich vocal harmonies and elements of their earlier folk sound returned too, resulting in an album that feels both intimate and enormous.

Produced by Paul Epworth and recorded at The Church Studios in London, Delta moves between atmospheric electronics, piano-led ballads, acoustic folk and huge stadium-sized choruses. “Guiding Light”, “Woman” and “Beloved” showcase the album's immediate and emotional side, while “Darkness Visible”, “Wild Heart” and the sprawling title track “Delta” reveal a darker and more experimental edge.

The album was released as a substantial 14-track collection spread across two records. It captures a band ten years into their career, confident enough to experiment while retaining the songwriting, harmonies and live energy that had made Mumford & Sons one of Britain's biggest bands.
