NIRVANA - NEVERMIND
Second Studio Album · 180g Black Vinyl LP
Few albums changed the course of rock music quite as dramatically as Nevermind. Released in September 1991, Nirvana's second studio album took the raw energy of underground punk and alternative rock and pushed it into the mainstream without losing the sense of danger that made the band so compelling.
At the centre of it all is “Smells Like Teen Spirit”, a song that became an unlikely generational anthem and propelled Nirvana from the alternative scene into international stardom. But Nevermind was never simply about one enormous single.
“Come As You Are”, “Lithium”, “In Bloom”, “Breed” and “Drain You” demonstrate the extraordinary balance at the heart of the record — huge melodic hooks sitting alongside distorted guitars, restless dynamics and Kurt Cobain's raw, often introspective songwriting.
Produced by Butch Vig, the album gave Nirvana a bigger and cleaner sound than their earlier work while retaining the aggression of their live performances. Krist Novoselic's bass and Dave Grohl's thunderous drumming provide the engine underneath Cobain's guitar and vocals, creating a sound that still feels remarkably immediate decades later.
From the explosive opening of “Smells Like Teen Spirit” through to the haunting “Something In The Way”, Nevermind moves effortlessly between noise and restraint. It's an album that can sound enormous one moment and devastatingly intimate the next.
This 180g vinyl edition presents the original 12-track album across two sides — a landmark record that remains an essential piece of any serious alternative rock collection.
