Released in September 2025, the album sees Dean building on the intimate songwriting and rich soul-pop of her debut Messy. Produced alongside Zach Nahome, The Art of Loving feels assured and beautifully unhurried, drawing on neo-soul, jazz, pop and classic R&B while keeping Dean’s voice firmly at the centre.
The album opens with “The Art of Loving (Intro)”, before moving into the bright, affectionate “Nice To Each Other”and the effortlessly soulful “Lady Lady”. “Close Up” and “So Easy (To Fall In Love)” capture the excitement and vulnerability of new love, while “Let Alone The One You Love” and “Man I Need” explore the more complicated side of relationships.
Throughout the record, Dean’s songwriting remains conversational and emotionally precise. “Something Inbetween”, “Loud”, “Baby Steps” and “A Couple Minutes” add further shades to an album that never needs to force its message — instead allowing its warmth, musicianship and honesty to speak for themselves.
