OLIVIA RODRIGO - GUTS
Standard Black Vinyl
Olivia Rodrigo’s second studio album, GUTS, is a record about growing pains, emotional chaos and the uncomfortable process of figuring out who you are. Released in 2023, it takes the confessional songwriting of SOUR and turns up the guitars, attitude and sense of experimentation, creating a sharper and more restless pop-rock record.
Produced primarily by Daniel Nigro, the album moves effortlessly between explosive guitars, punchy pop production and quieter, more vulnerable moments. “all-american bitch” opens the record with a deliberately volatile mix of sweetness and aggression, while “bad idea right?” and “get him back!” bring a playful, chaotic energy to Rodrigo’s storytelling.
At its emotional centre sits “vampire”, a dramatic and increasingly intense examination of manipulation and heartbreak. Elsewhere, “lacy”, “logical” and “the grudge” reveal a more introspective side, while “pretty isn’t pretty” explores insecurity and the pressure surrounding appearance.
The album closes with “teenage dream”, an appropriately reflective ending to a record concerned with growing older while still trying to understand the person you are becoming. The result is a remarkably cohesive album that balances humour, anger, vulnerability and youthful uncertainty without sanding away the rough edges.
This edition is the standard black vinyl pressing, housed in a gatefold sleeve with a printed inner sleeve. For collectors, it represents the core physical edition of one of Rodrigo’s defining albums — a record that helped establish her as one of the most prominent voices in modern pop-rock.
