OLIVIA RODRIGO - SOUR
Limited Edition Baby Pink Vinyl
Olivia Rodrigo’s debut studio album, SOUR, is a defining modern pop record built around heartbreak, jealousy, anger, insecurity and the complicated emotions of growing up. Released in 2021, it established Rodrigo as a distinctive new voice by moving effortlessly between stripped-back confessionals, alternative pop, pop-rock and louder, guitar-driven moments.
Produced primarily by Daniel Nigro, the album captures the intensity of first heartbreak without disguising its messier edges. “drivers license” opens the emotional floodgates, while “deja vu” and “good 4 u” show two very different sides of Rodrigo’s ability to turn personal experiences into huge pop songs.
Elsewhere, “traitor”, “favorite crime” and “enough for you” bring a quieter vulnerability to the record, while “brutal”injects punk-inspired energy and a sharply self-aware sense of humour. The album closes with “hope ur ok”, shifting the focus outward with a message of empathy and resilience.
What makes SOUR particularly enduring is the contrast at its heart: intimate songwriting alongside enormous pop hooks, vulnerability alongside sarcasm, and youthful uncertainty alongside remarkably assured performances. It is an album that feels intensely personal while remaining immediately relatable.
This edition is pressed on limited Baby Pink coloured vinyl, presented in a gatefold sleeve with printed insert. Originally issued as a special coloured-vinyl edition in 2022, it offers collectors a visually distinctive pressing of Rodrigo’s hugely influential debut.
