SABRINA CARPENTER - SHORT N' SWEET
Limited Edition Vintage Bottle Green Vinyl — Alternate Artwork
Sabrina Carpenter’s sixth studio album, Short n’ Sweet, is a sharply crafted pop record built around confidence, humour, flirtation and the complicated realities of modern relationships. Released in August 2024, it captures the moment Carpenter’s songwriting and personality came together into a hugely distinctive pop identity.
The album wastes little time establishing its character. “Taste” opens with a knowing confidence, while “Please Please Please” and “Good Graces” combine irresistible melodies with Carpenter’s dry, conversational humour. “Sharpest Tool”, “Coincidence” and “Bed Chem” continue the record’s exploration of attraction, relationships and romantic uncertainty.
At the centre sits “Espresso”, the global breakthrough that became one of Carpenter’s defining songs. Its breezy production, instantly recognisable hook and playful lyrics perfectly capture the personality running through the album. Elsewhere, “Dumb & Poetic”, “Slim Pickins” and “Juno” show Carpenter moving between vulnerability, wit and unapologetic confidence.
The album closes with “Lie To Girls” and “Don’t Smile”, adding a more reflective edge to a record that is otherwise packed with energy and personality. Produced with collaborators including Jack Antonoff, John Ryan and Ian Kirkpatrick, Short n’ Sweet blends contemporary pop with retro influences to create a sound that feels both polished and distinctly Carpenter.
