ZACH BRYAN - ZACH BRYAN
Self-Titled Album · 2LP Black Vinyl
With Zach Bryan, the Oklahoma singer-songwriter takes the raw, unfiltered approach that had defined his rise and expands it into one of his most ambitious records to date.
Released in 2023, the self-titled album is deeply rooted in Bryan's Oklahoma upbringing, but its emotional reach is much wider. Across sixteen tracks, he writes about love, distance, home, regret and the people who shape us, delivering songs that feel conversational rather than carefully polished.
The album opens with the haunting “Fear and Friday's (Poem)” before moving into “Overtime”, “Summertime's Close” and “East Side of Sorrow”. Elsewhere, Bryan brings in a remarkable collection of collaborators, including Kacey Musgraves on the huge “I Remember Everything”, The War and Treaty on “Hey Driver”, Sierra Ferrell on “Holy Roller” and The Lumineers on “Spotless.”
At its heart, though, this remains Zach Bryan's record. He wrote and produced the album himself, giving the songs an immediacy that sits somewhere between modern country, folk and Americana.
The closing “Oklahoman Son” brings the record back to its roots, making the album feel like a complete portrait of an artist balancing newfound success with the places and experiences that made him who he is.
Pressed as a 2LP black vinyl edition, Zach Bryan is an important physical release from the period when Bryan's deeply personal songwriting was moving from cult following to a much wider audience.
